Woody
Here’s your mentally stimulating wood fact of the day or Woody (note: some woodies may stay up much longer than a day due to how profound in nature the woody may be):
Did you know that hardwood is not necessarily harder or more dense that softwood? It’s true. Balsa is a hardwood and is significantly softer than most softwoods and Yew which is a softwood is more dense than most hardwoods. The distinction between hardwood and softwoods is as follows: softwoods are from conifer, or cone-bearing trees, while hardwoods are from broad-leaved trees. Softwoods and hardwoods also rely on different mechanisms to transport fluids (yeah, this stuff writes itself). In general, most hardwoods are harder than most softwoods and vice versa. So despite what you may have learned in prison you can’t necessarily determine if the wood you are holding is softwood or hardwood simply by it’s rigidity/density. Good to know, huh…
I hope you enjoyed your woody today.

I always said you were very witty. Love your sense of humor!
